Welcome! This is a book recommender for the Project Gutenberg collection. If you type in the name of a book in the collection (mostly pre-1930 texts), it will suggest other books that have similar content or style.

If you already know one of the recommended books, you can rate how similar you think that book actually is to the one you were asking about. I'll use these ratings to help improve the recommendation system in the future.

A few things to note:

• As should hopefully be obvious from the development blog linked above, the recommender is far from perfect. Please bear that in mind and use the rating system to help improve it.
• Not all books in the Project Gutenberg catalog are necessarily available - periodicals, recently added books, and non-English texts are particularly likely to be absent.
• Multiple copies of the same text may appear. These are difficult to filter out in an automated way due to the possibility of different editions and translations.
• I am not associated in any way with Project Gutenberg, nor do I make any money (directly or indirectly) from this recommender. This is merely a free service to help people find new books they might like.
